Practical checklist

Before, during, and after the draw

  1. Write the eligibility rules, entry period, prize details, and winner response deadline.
  2. Remove duplicate, late, or ineligible entries using the same published rule for everyone.
  3. Freeze the final entry list before opening the picker.
  4. Choose whether one person can win more than once and remove winners when required.
  5. Run the draw visibly or keep a timestamped record of the final list and result.
  6. Verify the winner before publishing personal details.
  7. Contact the winner through the method stated in the rules.
  8. Keep a backup-winner process for unclaimed or invalid entries.

Good practice

Keep the draw credible

  • Do not imply that the picker enforces local promotion, lottery, privacy, or platform rules; the organizer remains responsible for compliance.
  • Use entry IDs instead of public personal data when the draw is streamed or embedded on a public page.
  • Explain any redraw before spinning again so participants understand why the first result was not accepted.
